Glossary of Terms

 

 

  • Basket: A small basket held by the flower girl to throw petals along the aisle.

 

 

  • Boutonniere: A small group of flowers worn in a buttonhole of a lapel on a mans suit.

 

 

  • Bouquet: An attractively arranged bunch of flowers, presented as a gift or carried as a ceremony.

 

 

 

  • Brooch: An extra-small grouping of flora, smaller than a corsage, that can be pinned to your hair or extra small items.

 

 

 

  • Candelabra: floor stand, typically metal and adjustable height, designed to hold several candles.

 

 

 

  • Centerpieces: Arrangements of flowers used for decoration on the center of dining tables, cocktail tables, sweetheart tables and head tables.

 

 

 

  • Corsage: A small spray or small group of flowers pinned to a woman’s clothes or worn around the wrist.

 

 

 

  • Curved Arch: A structure people stand under or walk under with a curved top.

 

 

 

  • Custom Installation: A Custom made flower design piece for decor.

 

 

 

  • Flower Chandelier: Flowers arranged in the shape of a chandelier.

 

 

 

  • Flower Crown: A wearable wreath of flowers or vines for your head.

 

 

 

  • Flower Wall: A full wall covered in flowers.

 

 

 

  • Garland: Decorative long cord of flowers or vines usually hung across mantles or stairs.

 

 

 

  • Hoop Bouquet: An alternative to a traditional bouquet, flowers are hung and arranged around a hoop that’s carried.

 

 

 

  • Pedestal Arrangement: A large flower arrangement standing up, typically up where the ceremony takes place.

 

 

 

  • Pew markers: Flowers or decoration hung along chairs or placed on the ground going down the aisle.

 

 

 

  • Pillow flowers: Flowers that accompany the ring bearers pillow.

 

 

 

  • Pomander: A ball shaped flower arrangement hung from a ribbon and carried.

 

 

 

  • Spray: Flowers inserted in an oasis cage, splayed outward, then hung or displayed on a stand.

 

 

 

  • Square Arch: A structure people walk through or stand under that has a square top as an alternative to traditional rounded top.

 

 

 

  • Stair rail / Doorway Garland: Garland or an arrangement of flowers stretching across a doorway or stair railing.

 

 

 

  • Tablescapes: An alternative to a centerpiece, directly on the table or a tray instead of a raised container.  Usually contains moss, rocks or succulents.

 

 

 

  • Wreath: An arrangement of flowers and leaves fastened in a ring used for decoration.
